Why do some wheels have a no snow symbol?

This is a great question!
The reason these wheels are not suggested for winter use is due to the machined face on the wheels.
Generally speaking, any machined, milled, chrome or polished finish is not recommended for winter use as they have a tendency of piting or tarnishing prematurely when used on salty winter roads.
We typically suggest a fully painted wheel for winter use.
