Originally founded in 1960's by former Formula 1 driver Eddie Keizan, TSW is one of the oldest aftermarket wheel manufacturers. Initially TSW Alloy Wheels operated as Tiger Sports Wheels and had retail stores in a small manufacturing facility in South Africa. As the 1980's came around, the company went public on the Johannesburg stock exchange and the brand expanding significantly. Over the next 2 decades, TSW began to supply every significant car company in the world. Over the next 20 years, through the purchase of ATS wheels of Germany and other expansions, new production was established in Germany, Poland, South Africa and the United States.

TSW created and launched nine new brands. These included, Beyern BMW Wheels, Mandrus Mercedes-Benz Wheels, Victor Equipment Porsche Wheels, Cray Corvette Wheels, Coventry Jaguar Wheels, Redbourne Land Rover Wheels, Black Rhino Truck Wheels, Genius Smart Car Wheels and Lumarai Lexus wheels.

TSW has been involved in motor racing around the globe for over 40 years. Such involvement has ranged from the 24hours of Le Mans to Touring Cars to Formula One. The company was started in 1967 using prize money earned on the track. Their slogan “born on the track” can actually be taken literally.

In 2011 TSW began to manufacture many of its wheels using a highly advanced production technique called rotary forging. The rim of the wheels is forged at high pressure while the wheel is spun at high speed. This alters the molecular structure and enhances the strength of the alloy. The benefit is a much lighter weight than a regular cast wheel. The weight saving is in the outer rim of the wheel which dramatically reduces rotational mass and enhances vehicle performance.
